Whatever Happened to…..Sunday Morning?

So if you’re a Rocky Horror fan (like me) you’ll get the reference here (and the photo).  Ahhh, Sunday mornings.  Sleeping late, good coffee, relaxation, lazily reading the paper………………chasing M out of the kitchen for the umteenth time because he is eating Whitman’s chocolates at 8:30 AM, sweeping up breadcrumbs that were left out from dinner last night and M has decided will be his morning snack, getting slapped by M on top of the head because he’s upset for no reason that is apparent to me.  That broken record of the weekend morning mantra rings through my head, “Get out of the kitchen, M!  Get out of the kitchen, M!” followed by a scream from aforementioned room.  C has taken over the living room media today.  Before I came on to blog, I had to shut down the YouTube videos that he had opened so he could get cheats for his various Mario games on the Wii.  Now he sits on the couch completely engrossed in his Nintendo DS game while the rest of us get to enjoy an exciting episode of SpongeBob Squarepants which has been left full-blast on the TV.

Speaking of television, ever see that new KFC commercial about saving all the good things for Sunday?  In which reality are these people residing?  Maybe the one where the maids clean up every day and the grocery shopping magically gets done by itself.  I guess in that world, children don’t have sports activities that fill up Saturdays leaving all the other stuff waiting to get done on Sunday.  They must not have Publixes and markets with deli departments running out of numbers on Sundays as customers try to squeeze through the crowd waiting at the counter.  Yup, all the GREAT things are saved for Sunday.  Uh huh.
